15 players with D-1 offers on one team

USC, Ohio State, Auburn, Syracuse, UCLA, Rutgers, West Virginia, Iowa, Maryland, Hawaii, Temple, Purdue, Boise State, N.C. State. You may not have heard of the Eastern Christian Academy football team, but all these schools have.

This is the list of some of the schools that offered scholarships to Eastern Christian Academy (Md.) players. Not bad considering it’s the team’s first year in existence.

Actually, the players on the team are playing for Eastern Christian for the first time – but they all played together at Red Lion Christian Academy in Bear, Del. previously.

After the church that managed the school had a change in ownership and management that produced a deemphasis on the athletic program, the group found a home at newly formed school.

The team has been busy since the end of last season, taking the spring and summer 7-on-7 competitions by storm. The latest conquest came at the Rutgers competition, which saw Class of 2015 quarterback – and USC commit – David Sills earn the honor as the event’s top offensive player by Rivals.com. Not to be outdone, Jahmere Irvin-Sills, an Auburn commit, earned the top defensive honor.

Eastern Christian earned the title in the 84-team tournament with a shutout of Coatesville (Pa.) in the title game. Eastern Christian also knocked off Bergen Catholic (N.J.) in a tough semifinal.

David Sills and Jahmere Irvin-Sills, however, aren’t the only ones on the team garnering national attention.

Take a look at this list.

Kenny Bigelow SR. DE – 6-4, 290 5-stars – committed to USC.

Khaliel Rodgers SR. OL – 6-3, 300 4-stars – has 15 offers including Ohio State, Auburn, Boston College, Connecticut, Houston, Iowa, Mississippi, Purdue, Rutgers, Temple, UCLA, West Virginia, Western Kentucky, Cincinnati.

Dhameer Bradley  SR. WR – 5-9, 165 3-stars – committed to Connecticut.

Isaiah Johnson SR. DT – 6-5, 272 3-stars – committed to Syracuse.

Wendell Smallwood SR. RB – 5-11, 194 3-stars – has seven offers including Auburn, West Virginia, Boston College, Connecticut, Hawaii, Rutgers, Temple.

Daikiel Shorts SR. WR – 6-1, 199, 3-stars – eight offers from Boise State, West Virginia, Boston College, UCLA, West Virginia, Temple, UMass  and N.C. State.

Danair Hardrick SR. DE – 6-0, 267, 2-stars – three offers from Delaware State, Norfolk State and Massachusetts

And that’s only the players that have been offered to this point. You can be sure that more offers for more players are coming as Eastern Christian and its players continues its success.
